The Dr. Phillis L. Nichols-Anderson Faith-Based Book Scholarship was established in 2004 by the Chi Eta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the PEARLS Foundation to provide support to African American high school students as they work to further their education. The scholarship is named in honor of Dr. Phillis Nichols Anderson because of her tireless commitment to the development of young people as an educator and her years of mentorship to college women and for the role she played in the chartering of the Chi Eta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Nearly 50 young people are recipients of these scholarships.
The Dr. Phillis Nichols Anderson Faith Based Scholarship competition is held annually the deadline for the current Dr. Phillis Nichols Anderson Faith Based Scholarship is midnight January 15, 2019.
To apply for the Dr. Phillis Nichols Anderson Faith Based Scholarship you must meet one of the following requirements:
1) A Central Arkansas high school 12th grader of color with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
2) A freshman, sophomore, or junior attending an Arkansas HBCU with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
3) Attend or plan to attend an accredited college and be able to demonstrate financial need
